Oh, that I had the wings of a dove,
I would fly away, fly away.
Oh, that I had the wings of a dove,
I would fly away to God's love.
1. Listen to my prayer, O Lord, my God.
Hear You not my plea?
Take me in Your care, O Lord, my God.
Stop this agony.
2. If it were a foe attacking me:
that I could endure.
But it is my friend — . . .
a trust I thought secure.
3. I call upon Your help, O Lord, my God.
I cast my cares on You.
Only you sustain, O Lord, my God.
Only You are true.
