Have mercy on me, Lord.
Have mercy on me, Lord.

Lord, I know I've sinned.
Make me clean again.
Have mercy, Lord.
1. My sin is e'er be-fore me.
Against You only have I sinned.
Despite Your wish that I be ever true.
Despite Your teachings, my Lord.
2. Create in me a clean heart.
Renew a right spirit within me.
And cast me not from Your presence, O my Lord,
or take Your Spirit from me.
3. You do not want burnt offerings,
or those I would gladly bring to You.
Instead, I bring a broken, contrite heart.
For that You know is true.
