YOU WERE THERE! (PSALM 116)

1. I cried out to You,
and my God, You heard my plea.
Be at rest my soul.
Our Lord God will comfort thee.

Cast in bleak despair:
Cords of death entangled me.
Yet, Lord, You were there,
and cut the bonds to set me free.

You were there.
Lord, You were there.
You held me in Your arms, O God!
You were there.
Lord, You were there.
You saved me from all harm, my God.

2. How can I repay
all the good You've done for me?
Good and gracious God,
who cares for us so lovingly.

I will lift the cup —
the cup of life You've given me.
I will fill my vows:
lift You up for all to see.

You are there.
Lord, You are there.
You're ev'rything I need, O God!
You are there.
Lord, You are there.
Through You am I freed, O God!
